For Boulder Practitioners
Authentic Ashtanga Yoga in Denver
Looking for traditional Mysore-style Ashtanga practice? Our Denver studio offers daily Mysore with teachers trained by Richard Freeman and authorized by Sharath Jois.

William & Elizabeth with Sharath Jois at KPJAYI, Mysore, India
The Colorado Ashtanga Lineage
Boulder has a rich Ashtanga history thanks to Richard Freeman and Mary Taylor at The Yoga Workshop. Our own Elizabeth Van Genderen completed both Richard Freeman's month-long Intensive and Advanced Intensive, bringing that same attention to detail and philosophical depth to our Denver studio.
While Boulder's yoga scene has evolved, we maintain a dedicated space for traditional Mysore practice—the method as it's taught in Mysore, India.
Why Boulder Practitioners Drive to Denver
Dedicated Shala
A space devoted entirely to Ashtanga practice—not a fitness studio offering yoga classes. The energy of a dedicated shala is different.
KPJAYI Authorization
Both teachers hold Level 2 Authorization from Sharath Jois—the traditional credential from the source. Elizabeth can teach Full Intermediate Series.
Daily Mysore Program
Monday through Friday Mysore classes. Build consistency with a regular morning practice in a supportive community.
Richard Freeman Trained
Elizabeth completed Richard Freeman's intensive trainings. Expect the same precision and philosophical grounding Boulder practitioners appreciate.

For Serious Practitioners
If you're practicing beyond Primary Series or seeking authorization-track guidance, Elizabeth can provide instruction through the Intermediate Series. Our studio maintains the traditional approach where new poses are given when you're ready, not on a fixed schedule.
